Santa's Village (diagonally across the street). Experience the magic and wonder of Christmas morning at Santa’s Village, located just across the street from The Lantern Resort! Families like yours come back year after year to enjoy a day of wonderful themed rides, great shows, Santa and his reindeer. Oh What Fun! Santa and his helpers pride themselves on providing top quality entertainment. One low admission includes unlimited rides and shows for the entire day! Come within 3 hours of closing, and return another day for free. With all there is to see and do, who wouldn’t go?
Six Gun City (5 minutes, 6 miles). Located a couple of minutes from the Lantern Resort is Six Gun City, New Hampshire's Western Play Land. Little Cowboys and Cowgirls of all ages can ride, slide, race, and play all day. Meet the Sheriff to get your Deputy badge and help catch an Outlaw. Play our new adventure game "Spirit of the West". Get your picture on a Wanted Poster, pan for gems at the Gopher Creek Mine, take a stroll through the Boot Hill Cemetery, wet your whistle at the Six Gun Saloon (soft drinks), mosey on into Gabby's Grub House for some tempting food items or enjoy a picnic at our new facility- the Happy Hombre Hideout. Its thrills and chills on our 14 exciting rides and water slides. Let us start your engine on the Tumbleweed Speedway go-karts, climb aboard the Gold Rush Express runaway train roller coaster, or pretend you're out on the range on the Six Gun Stage (mechanical). Cool off on the Prospectors' Plunge water coaster, the Tomahawk Run water slide, the Cheyenne Falls water slide, the Fort Splash wading pool, or on the Ice House Pond Bumper Boats. It's back in the saddle for all kids on the Norwegian Fjord horse ride or the Giddy-Up-Corral merry-go-round.
Mount Washington Auto Road (35 minutes, 27 miles) A drive on the Mount Washington Auto Road is a drive unlike any other. With the ever-changing weather conditions on New England's highest peak, no two trips are the same. Bluebird skies and stunning vistas may greet you one day. Clarks Trading Post (50 minutes, 35 miles) You’ll find it all here- an excursion on The White Mountain Central Railroad through our authentic covered bridge and into Wolfman’s territory. Story Land (50 minutes, 40 miles) Story Land is the children’s theme park where fantasy lives! Attitash (50 minutes) Discover summer at Attitash. Whether you're cruising down North America's longest alpine slide, or cooling off on a hot summer day by splashing down one of our four waterslides, Attitash has everything for that Perfect Summer Vacation. Relax on a guided horseback tour through the forest and meadows along the Saco River or take it up a notch with miles of downhill and cross-country mountain bike trails in the White Mountain National Forest. Whales Tale Water Park (50 mins, 34 miles) At the Whale's Tale Water Park, the whole family can play in the only wave pool in the White Mountains. Ride the big waves or relax in the gentle ones at the shallow end. No need to worry about sand or salt. A splashing good time awaits you at the Whale's Tale Water Park. Streak down the speed slides, twist through the flume slides, or splash down the 360 foot tube ride with clean, clear filtered water.
Hobo Railway (55mins, 37 miles) Travel through a natural woodsy setting along the twisting "Pemi" River, just minutes away from Franconia Notch. You can relax, wave to the tubers and kayakers, watch as young boys swing out over a long rope attached to Swimming Hole Bridge for a splash into the cool river. Conway Scenic Railroad (1 hour, 45 miles) Travel with us on one of our nostalgic train rides of varying duration, all departing from our historic station on Schouler Park in the vacation village of North Conway, NH. Whether you choose one of the Valley routes to Conway or Bartlett, or the legendary Crawford Notch excursion, you'll experience the excitement of rail travel in the comfort of open or enclosed restored passenger cars.
Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves (1 hour 5 mins, 42 miles) Here in Kinsman Notch, the powerful forces of water, wind, weather and time worked their magic, creating Lost River... a place where granite walls seem to erupt from the earth and a river plays hide and seek. Today you can follow Lost River as it appears and disappears through the narrow steep-walled gorge, the tumbled granite crevasses, caverns and falls.
